Job Overview 

St. Matthew Catholic Church is seeking a reliable and dedicated Part-Time Custodian to help  maintain a clean and welcoming environment for our parish community. This role is ideal for  college students, parishioners, or anyone looking for part-time, flexible work in a supportive  community setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform light cleaning three times per week, including: 

o Cleaning bathrooms (restocking supplies, wiping surfaces, and sanitizing). 

           o Vacuuming floors throughout the church and parish hall. 

o Mopping the kitchen area to keep it tidy. 

o Basic reorganization of common spaces as needed. 

o Cleaning glass surfaces, including windows and doors in the Narthex.  o Spot treatment of carpet stains. 

  •  Taking out the trash and ensuring all bins are emptied regularly. 
  •  Restocking bathroom and kitchen supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, paper  plates, etc.). 
  •  Inventory supplies and report items to reorder. 
  •  Provide additional cleaning support after parish events (approximately 2-4 extra hours  per week, as needed). 
  •  Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall cleanliness of the church.


Requirements 

  •  Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  •   Ability to work independently and responsibly. 
  •  Must be able to complete safe environment training and background checks.
  •   Previous cleaning experience is a plus but not required. 


Schedule  

  •  Approximately 2 hours per day, 3 times per week. 
  •  Additional 2-4 hours per week for post-event or deep cleaning as needed. 
  •  Flexible scheduling based on church events and activities. 


Compensation 

Hourly rate starting at $12.50, based on experience, paid bi-weekly through the Paycor  payroll system.
